Hiring Content Editor For The World's Most Beautiful Online Courses
If you want to develop a promising career in online video production...
If you want to collaborate with world-class photographers and video editors...
And if you want to help millions of people improve their iPhone photography…
Then this job could literally change your life!
But only if you keep reading.
Who Are We?
iPhone Photography School is the world’s leader in mobile photography education.
With over 207,218 paying students (and millions enjoying our free lessons), our goal is to help people capture the beauty of the world with the only camera that’s in their pocket.
We create the most beautiful, most inspiring, and most helpful online courses in the world.
Because of our success, we’re looking for another video content editor to join our team.
This is an editorial position. You don’t need prior video editing experience to apply.
9 Reasons To Join iPhone Photography School As A Video Content Editor
1. Develop In-Demand Skills In Video Production
Today people spend far more time watching videos than reading text.
With the success of video platforms such as Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and Netflix, video is one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand fields for building a career.
Our own company’s success has been based on our ability to create engaging videos.
So we’ve perfected video production better than almost anyone else in the world.
Join our team, and you’ll develop in-demand skills in video production!
2. Create Inspiring Content That Matters
There’s a lot of quality content that no one really cares about.
And there’s also content that speaks to people so deeply that it changes their lives.
We’re interested in the latter.
We don’t just teach iPhone photography (though we do that well). We go out of our way to create stunningly beautiful, engaging, and inspiring videos that really matter to people.
If you share this passion, you’ll love working at iPhone Photography School.
3. A Remote-First Company That Really Works
If you’ve tried working remotely, you already know how frustrating it can be.
Perhaps there are impromptu meetings that only take place in the office, leaving you out of the loop and unable to participate in key decisions...
Or perhaps you just weren’t given the right file, and there’s no one online to help you...
As a remote-first company, everything we do – from our processes and meetings to our globally distributed team – is designed for remote work. We’ve been doing it for years.
You’ll never feel like a second-class citizen because you’re working remotely.
4. Combine Your Work And Your Passion
Would you rather work on something just to pay the bills...
Or something you'd be happy to do even if money was not a consideration?
At iPhone Photography School, you’ll be completely immersed in photos and videos.
You’ll be editing exceptional photography lessons featuring some of the best photography experts in the world. And in the process, you’ll become a better photographer yourself.
You won't have to balance your work and your passion. Your work will be your passion.
5. Millions Of People Will Use Your Work
There are over 1.7 billion websites online. Unfortunately, 99.9% of them will never have a significant user base because there are so many alternatives to choose from.
It's frustrating to put months (or years) of work into a project that very few people will use.
But that won’t happen in our company. Every month, millions of people watch our free video lessons. And we already have 207,218 paying customers who take our online courses.
Join our team, and your work will directly benefit all these people!
6. Stability You Can Count On
Most startups have huge ambitions – but little or no revenue.
If you've spent years of your life in an exciting new project that never really took off, you already know how frustrating it can be.
Rather than burning investor money, iPhone Photography School has been highly profitable for years. We’ve never taken investor money. Our rapid growth has been funded by sales.
You won’t have to worry about our company running out of money.
7. Do The Best Work Of Your Life
Forget about unmotivated colleagues who always find ways to slow you down.
Our work environment is designed for continuous improvement in everything we do.
As an education company, we live and breathe learning. And we recognize how quickly things are changing. So the only way to stay on top is for us to keep learning too.
You’ll spend about 10-15% of your paid working hours on learning new skills. We'll pay for online courses and books.
We’ll help you grow so you can do the best work of your life.
8. Perks That Make A Difference
To get the best results, we have to offer the best possible work conditions.
Things like a top-of-the-line laptop, automated solutions for repetitive tasks, and investing in your education make your work more valuable. So providing them is a no-brainer for us.
We also want you to have a sense of belonging to our company. Even though we work remotely, you'll get to meet your coworkers in person at our regular team retreats.
Whether it's rafting through the wilderness, sailing to a remote island, or participating in an ancient sauna ritual, you’ll remember these adventures for years to come.
9. Join A Company You Truly Believe In
Many people don't believe that their company creates a positive impact on the world.
But our company is different. We help millions of people take better photos. And we make the most beautiful online courses in the world (you can watch a sample video below).
Every week we receive hundreds of heartfelt thank-you notes (take a look! https://www.facebook.com/iPhonePS/reviews/) from our students saying we helped fill their lives with the joy of photography.
Join our team, and you'll work for a company you truly believe in.
What Will You Do As A Video Content Editor?
Video content editor isn’t a typical job description. So to help you understand what you’ll be doing on a typical workday, let’s start by reviewing our video production process.
Course producers work with the expert to prepare for recording
The course content is recorded by our world-class camera operators
Video content editor pre-edits the recorded content into coherent lessons
Our all-star video editing team takes over to create truly breathtaking videos
Our pedantic video reviewers suggest improvements and ask for revisions
As a video content editor, you’ll be reviewing the recorded material to decide what goes in the videos, what stays out, and how to structure the lessons in the best way possible.
It’s similar to what a book editor would do to an unpolished manuscript, except with video.
While we require editorial experience, you don’t need prior experience in video editing.
Here’s What We Expect From You
You have relevant editorial experience (e.g. writer, editor, producer, etc.)
You understand how to structure content clearly
You understand what makes content engaging or boring
You have at least an intermediate understanding of photography
You can tell the difference between a good and a great photo
This is a 100% remote full-time position. Due to time zone differences, we won’t be able to hire applicants residing in Australia or the eastern parts of Asia.
Please note that our hiring process includes a paid trial period if you advance to the next stage.
If you delay submitting your application, someone else will be hired before you.
