Duty Manager

Sundial Boutique Hotel, located in the heart of Whistler village, is recruiting for the position of Duty Manager. This is a full-time, year-round, permanent position located at our business address: 4340 Sundial Crescent, Whistler, British Columbia, V8E 1G5. The language of work is English.

Job duties:

• Coordinate and supervise the work of Guest Service Representatives, Night Auditors and the Valet team;
• Assist with the recruitment and training of new employees;
• Create work schedules within the scope of the Front Office;
• Resolve work related issues and oversee the handling of guest complaints, whilst developing and empowering Guest Service Representatives to deal with guest concerns;
• Develop and implement operational procedures for the department
• Liaise and coordinate work with other departments to ensure streamlined operations and customer satisfaction;
• Audit and report on extranets, inventory, and cash to ensure accuracy and controls
• Monitor inventory and order items for the department as required
• Have a thorough understanding of the property management software used by the hotel and ensure the smooth operation of the computer system.
• Ensure employees are complying with uniform and grooming requirements and are following all hotel policies and procedures;
• Perform the same duties as those being supervised, when required.

Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school;
• At least two years of guest service experience in the accommodation industry, with at least one year in a supervisory position;
• Previous experience working in a high-end luxury hotel is a strong asset

The successful candidate will be paid $23.00 per hour plus commissions. Benefits include extended health, dental, disability insurance, and a wellness package.
