THE JOB
Hy-Tech is adding a Latin American Spanish Language translator to our growing team.

Following Hy-Tech’s partnership in South America resulting in the formation of Hy-Tech Griffith Drilling, we are urgently recruiting for an LA Spanish Language Interpreter to support the continued success of this exciting new venture. The Spanish Language Translator provides support in English to LA Spanish document translation, as well as verbal translation to support the lingual needs of various team members. The Spanish Language Translator uses skills in areas such as relationship building, collaboration, continuous improvement, and communication to develop the operations team and represents Hy-Tech Drilling professionally at all times.

RESPONSIBILITES & KEY FUNCTIONS

  • English to LA Spanish written work document translation
  • Periodic verbal translation between English and LA Spanish
  • Supports other departments with various translation needs
  • Other duties as assigned

THE PERKS

THE SETTING

  • Document translations can be done from remote location.
  • Department support can be done either remotely or in-person.
  • Preferably available to travel to the Smithers branch location to assist with in person communication.
  • Preferably available during the summer months to travel to drill sites to help with in person communication.

THE SCHEDULE
To be determined based on successful candidate’s availability location.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Native fluency in LA Spanish (written and oral)
  • Strong written and oral command of English
  • Previous language interpretation experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with industrial, mechanical, and/or drilling processes is an asset, but is not required
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to:
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Build rapport and credibility with employees, management and leadership.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
