Cylindrical Grinder

Western Hard Chrome is a privately owned Canadian company with a reputation for quality and outstanding service. For over 60 years, we have been known for our innovative services which include machining, grinding and chrome coating.

We are currently seeking two " Precision Cylindrical Grinders" to join our team.

As a Precision Cylindrical Grinder, the successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Interpreting and understanding technical drawings and work-orders with attention to detail
• Machining parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders
• Utilizing micrometers and bore gauges
• Performing quality control checks on workpieces in reference to customer specifications
• Aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machine
• Keep working areas clean and organized

The successful candidates possess the following skills and competencies:

• 1+ year experience with I.D. and O.D. grinding
• Mechanical engineering technology background is an asset
• Computer competent
• Able to work independently and within a team environment
• Reliable with a good attendance record
• Exceptional time management
• Able to work possible overtime
• Strong work ethic and willing to take initiative
• Must be self-motivated with a willingness and desire to learn job specific skills
• Safety oriented
• Speaks English
