Western Hard Chrome is a privately owned Canadian company with a reputation for quality and outstanding service. For over 60 years, we have been known for our innovative services which include machining, grinding and chrome coating.
We are currently seeking a " Hard Chrome Plater" to join our team.
As a Hard Chrome Plater, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Studying engineering drawings and blueprints
- Determining required materials
- Masking and blasting parts to prepare for chrome tanks
- Jigging parts and putting them in chrome tanks
- Determining the chrome bath condition and anodes for chrome tanks
- Determining the surface area of the workpiece to calculate the required plating voltage
- Determining plating time as per customer specifications
- Performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance for chrome tanks
- Utilizing micrometers and bore gauges
- Follow up NCR and implement corrective action
- Keeping working areas clean and organized
The successful candidate possesses the following skills and competencies:
- 1+ year of experience working with: Hydrometer, Stalagmometer and titration apparatus
- Secondary School Diploma
- 3-5 years of experience as hard chrome plater
- Mechanical engineering technology or chemistry background is an asset
- Experience with Jig designing will be an asset
- Computer competent
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Able to work in hot environments
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Reliable with a good attendance record
- Exceptional time management
- Able to work possible overtime
- Strong work ethic and willing to take initiative
- Must be self-motivated with a willingness and desire to learn job specific skills
- Safety oriented
- Speaks English
