Baumeier Corporation is a Canadian owned and operated metal manufacturing company, specializing in medium to small production, prototyping and custom projects. In business since 1991, Baumeier is focused on meeting the design and manufacturing needs of its customers.

We are currently looking for three full-time Machinists with the ability to work at a variety of duties to join our team.  This is a full-time year-round position.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Details of this position:

• Permanent, full time
• 40 hours a week minimum, overtime after 44 hours per week
• $30 per hour
• 10 vacation days/vacation pay 4% on wages earned
• Health, dental and group insurance plan after meeting initial eligibility for joining such plan

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations.
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Set-up and operate 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
• Use appropriate tools, fixtures and indicators to set up the machine.
• Load, unload, change and modify programs as required.
• Change and set cutting tools.
• Modify and grind tools as required.
• Adjust feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
• Operate the machine with all safety precautions in place.
• Deburr and prepare parts for loading and after unloading.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance.
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• May set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a machinist in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Completion of High School.
• Ability to handle physical workload ie: lift weight of 20 pounds.
• Productively works with others as a team member as well as independently.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and apply safe practices.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
