Job requirements

Languages - English

Education - Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience

Field of study - Baking and pastry arts/baker/pastry chef

Experience - 3 years to less than 5 years

Work setting - Large volume bakery

Personal suitability - Accurate, Reliability, Team player

Screening questions - Are you currently legally able to work in Canada? Are you willing to relocate for this position? Do you have previous experience in this field of employment? What is the highest level of study you have completed

Food specialties - Breads and rolls – Sourdough

Tasks - Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders, Bake mixed dough and batters, Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff, Train staff, Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards, Inspect kitchen and food service areas, Operate machinery

Supervision - 1 to 2 people

Transportation/travel information - Own transportation

Work conditions and physical capabilities

Ability to distinguish between colours, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Overtime required, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Tight deadlines, Work under pressure
