In-Home Caregiver

Family of four looking for an experienced and reliable in-home caregiver to assist with the day-to-day care of two children (one boy age 5 and one girl age 21 months).  Parents are both full-time professionals.  

Duties include:

• Supervising and caring for children in home
• Assisting with dressing, bathing, and feeding children
• Planning, preparing and serving meals for children
• Performing light housekeeping duties
• Overseeing children's activities, such as meals and rest periods
• Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Instructing children in personal hygiene
• Tending to the emotional well-being of children and supporting their social development
• Disciplining children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Providing age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
• Sterilize bottles, prepare formula, and change diapers for infant
• Taking children to and from school/activities and to appointments

Wage and Hours: 17.50 per hour/40 hrs per week/9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Terms of Employment: 2 year contract; Statutory benefits are included; private health insurance available until employee is eligible for provincial healthcare; travel expenses/relocation costs covered by employer

Experience and Training required:

• Completion of secondary school
• Child care experience an asset
• First aid certification and CPR
• Criminal record check

Language: English

Weight Handling: up to 50 lbs
