Overview
Cora Breakfast & Lunch is seeking a full-time Restaurant Manager to direct and oversee daily restaurant operations in a busy breakfast and lunch environment. The successful candidate will manage service and kitchen coordination, supervise staff, oversee scheduling and payroll support functions, maintain food quality and sanitation standards, respond to customer concerns, monitor labour and operating costs, and contribute directly to restaurant profitability and operational consistency.
Main duties
* Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily restaurant operations
* Supervise front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant activities, including service, kitchen coordination, food presentation, cleanliness and guest experience
* Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise, schedule and motivate staff
* Approve work schedules, verify attendance records and review employee timesheets
* Assign duties, explain work procedures and monitor task execution
* Resolve customer complaints and service issues professionally and efficiently
* Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, occupational health and safety, and company operating standards
* Monitor food quality, recipe compliance, presentation and portion control
* Oversee inventory levels, verify orders, receive deliveries and coordinate with approved suppliers
* Conduct staff evaluations, maintain employee files and support coaching and performance improvement
* Analyze labour costs, sales, customer counts, operating results and income statement trends
* Support opening and closing procedures, cash control, bank deposit preparation and daily reporting
* Maintain effective communication with staff, ownership, vendors and Head Office representatives
* Promote a respectful, efficient and team-oriented work environment
* Work with ownership to improve service quality, customer satisfaction and restaurant profitability
Employment requirements
* College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
* 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the food service sector
* Previous restaurant supervisory or management experience is required
* Strong leadership, communication, organizational and customer service skills are required
* Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment and manage operational pressure is required
* Ability to work flexible shifts based on operational requirements is required
